AP® with WE Service
Changing the world starts in the classroom
Made possible through an exclusive partnership between the College Board and WE, AP with WE Service is a program that offers AP teachers the opportunity to incorporate service-learning into their existing courses. We’re excited to announce that it’s now available in ALL AP Courses! Two curriculum modules have been developed by the College Board, WE and active AP teachers to align with the AP Course Framework. This enables teachers and students to engage with relevant coursework through a local and global context. Upon successful completion of program requirements, students can earn a recognition on their AP Score Report, as well as their high school transcript.
AP with WE Service Scholarship
Made possible by The Allstate Foundation, the AP with WE Service Scholarship was created to recognize students for the completion of their service-learning projects and reward exceptional students who have made a positive impact on their local and global communities. Two $50,000 scholarships will be awarded to students or student groups.

The Allstate Foundation helps create prosperous communities where people are inspired to fulfill their hopes and dreams. One of the ways the foundation does this is through the Good Starts Young Program, which enables youth to develop social and emotional learning skills through service learning, leading to success in school, in the workplace, and throughout their adult lives. That's why The Allstate Foundation teamed up with WE and CollegeBoard to support AP with WE Service.
AP Teachers
After opting in to the AP with WE Service program, educators select from one of two curriculum modules that have been developed by the College Board, WE and active AP teachers to align with the AP Course Framework. Teachers are expected to spend up to 10 hours of in-class instruction working through the curriculum module, while students will spend an additional 20 hours outside of the classroom completing service-learning related projects.

AP Students
By incorporating service-learning into existing AP courses, students learn about social issues while earning an AP with WE Service Recognition on their AP Score Report and high school transcript. They spend up to 10 hours in-class examining the root causes of social issues and planning actions—locally, nationally and globally. They also spend approximately 20 hours outside the classroom completing a related service project. This program helps deepen student’s leadership and social skills, critical thinking abilities and civic engagement while broadening their college, university and career choices.
