2. Getting help

Before you can get fully involved at WE, we need the help of your parent or legal guardian. Specifically, we need them to read the letter below and submit a form to us:

Dear: Parent/Legal Guardian of a World Changer:

Your amazing child has visited WE, the home of WE Charity, WE Day, and ME to WE. Because of privacy laws that apply in the UK, the U.S. and EU, we require your consent before your incredible child can provide us with personal information. Subject to your consent, and depending on how your child wants to get involved with us, we may collect the following information about your child to help them participate in our campaigns, events and initiatives:

  • Your first name;
  • Your last name;
  • Your online contact information;
  • Your email address;
  • Your age and/or date of birth;
  • Your gender;
  • Your username and password;
  • Your competition answers;
  • Your scholarship application;
  • Your preferences;
  • Information you give us in person or share with us through social media, phone, or post;
  • Information about your computer, table, or smartphone you use to visit our site;
  • Information about your location;
  • Pictures of you;
  • Videos of you; and
  • Any other information that allows people to contact you.

Your child’s information would only be used for our internal purposes and as described in more detail in our privacy policies (please see links below). Collecting such information helps us understand their needs and aid them in changing the world. This includes using information to:

  • deliver quality services and features that your child can use on our websites;
  • allow your child to register for and attend our events and activities;
  • allow your child to apply for a scholarship;
  • allow your child to interact with us via social media, getting in touch through the post, or in person;
  • allow your child to participate in our competitions
  • with your consent, to send marketing communications to your child about WE Charity content, products, events and promotions that your child might be interested in;
  • keep our services secure and safe;
  • protect ME to WE’s, WE Charity’s, WE Day’s or others’ rights or property;
  • conduct internal operations (data analysis, troubleshooting, testing and service improvements);
  • measure or understand the effectiveness of programming and content delivery;
  • offer opportunities of interest to your child, like causes to support, events to attend, and special offers;
  • offer opportunities that we think will be of interest to your child, like causes to support, events to attend, and opportunities and products of our sponsors;
  • facilitate and process purchases or donations;
  • make suggestions for your child and other users of the Sites; and
  • comply with any legal obligations.

To approve your child’s wishes to provide us with personal information, please submit our parental consent form by email to ukyouth@WE.org.

You can revoke consent at any time by submitting a request to ukyouth@WE.org. You can also delete the personal information that we have collected from your child by submitting a request to ukyouth@WE.org.

3. Get started!

Once your parent has submitted the form to us, you can get fully involved with WE Charity, WE Day, or ME to WE.
